Tony winner John Lithgow returns to Broadway December 21

John Lithgow, Tony winner, Oscar nominee, and TV personality will be back in the spotlight with his new show John Lithgow: Stories by Heart.
The show follows Lithgow's roots from child to star, as he grows up and try's to make this world his own. The two act solo show will start today, December 21 at the American Airlines Theatre. The Broadway premiere of the monologue play marks the culmination of the show’s development over several years. The evening of storytelling was first presented at Lincoln Center Theater in 2008 with direction by Jack O’Brien before heading to Theatres across the country whenever the actor’s schedule could allow.
Stories by Heart will officially open on Broadway January 11, 2018. Daniel Sullivan directs the limited engagement, set to continue through March 4.The design team includes set designer John Lee Beatty, costume designer Jess Goldstein, sound designer Peter Fitzgerald, and lighting designer Kenneth Posner.
Lithgow was last on Broadway in 2014, alongside Glenn Close in Edward Albee’s A Delicate Balance. He is a two-time Tony Award winner for his performances in Sweet Smell of Success and The Changing Room. He is also a two-time Academy Award nominee for the films Terms of Endearment and The World According to Garp. It is great to see Lithgow on stage again, and we hope for him the best.
