Lin's parents, who moved to Washington heights new York from Puerto Rico, gave him the a true love for his home country. Because of this, he has been a huge advocate in helping Puerto Rico recover. And at the same time bashing president Trump's response to the situation. tweeting and vocalizing his anger, even telling Trump, "Your going straight to hell" pushing supporters to side with him in diminishing Trump and getting onboard with the recovery.

“That’s not how I talk. This is not an everyday occurrence,” Miranda told New York Times.“Then again, I’ve never seen a sitting president attack the victims of a natural disaster.” He then added: “I’m not that guy. But it was the only thing I could think to say in the face of an attack on a people already besieged.” Miranda's actions have pushed many other celebrities to tweet at trump against his actions, Including horror novelist Stephen King to voice his opinions.

Miranda will be back and forth in Puerto Rico and The United states while he prepares to perform again in Puerto Rico. Much of the proceeds from the show will go to Repairing and saving Puerto Rico. This isn't his first musical action to help The island. His Single "Almost like praying" was made to help the people of Puerto Rico. Miranda arrived on the island this Tuesday, and announced a raised amount of 2.5 million dollars, all going to Puerto Rico.

“The road to recovery in Puerto Rico is not a simple one nor is it one that relies solely on aid from the American government on the mainland,” Miranda said, the Associated Press reported. “Together, we will cultivate, fund and execute practical and actionable solutions to kick-start and continue the island’s road to recovery for years to come.” His actions so far have been remarkable and all of us at RealBroadway hope to see more of his amazing efforts play out.

Hurricane Maria took over Puerto Rico several weeks ago, and thousands of homes and families are still without power. homes and buildings are still damaged, including the university "Hamilton" will perform in.
